For over a decade, Dr. Campbell and Dr. Hoffpauir have been on a mission to help the dental industry thrive and grow.
After much research, they discovered that the number one office challenge for most practices revolves around dental insurance, with the most frustrating aspect being how to obtain information – including verification, eligibility, and breakdown of benefits – from insurance companies. After much investigation, they found that most solution options center on humans gathering and inputting information, which increases the likelihood of mistakes that can be costly.
In their search for alternative solutions, they discovered automation and artificial intelligence via a small company called Dental Robot. An automated system that not only provided exponentially better data than any other brand, it also included a simple and intuitive interface for dental teams. Our doctors immediately fell in love with this faster, highly accurate, and cost-effective solution.
After teaming up with Dental Robot, Dr. Hoffpauir began spearheading an AI focus on organizational and patient care and acceptance. At the same time, Dr. Campbell began incorporating his dental insurance knowledge into an AI to provide data and teach teams how to improve their coding and billing performance.
In 2024, DIVA was born.
Travis Campbell, D.D.S.
Dr. Travis Campbell is a practicing dentist based in Prosper, Texas, a community just north of Dallas. Like so many dentists across the U.S., he and his team found the process of managing dental claims confusing and frustrating – and a source of lost income at times.
Realizing that there was no one “source” to go to obtain accurate information, for the last 10 years, he has made it his mission to study, learn, and improve all aspects of handling dental insurance within his practice. His studies initially culminated in a comprehensive guidebook called Understanding Dental Insurance: A Guide for Dentists and Their Teams, which was published in 2020. This best-seller raised significant awareness in the dental community, and as a result, Dr. Campbell frequently speaks across the country about the topic, emphasizing the many myths and bodies of misinformation that have made the process even more difficult.
Recently, to better respond to the volume of questions/requests he receives and help as many offices and dentists as possible, Dr. Campbell envisioned and created Dental Insurance Guy. Providing clear, comprehensive information and education about the complex topic of dental insurance, Dr. Campbell is the number one dentist educator on dental insurance in the country!
Chris Hoffpauir, D.D.S.
A born entrepreneur, Dr. Christopher Hoffpauir made his foray into the business world by selling four-leaf clovers to his schoolmates. But his lifelong avocation of turning aspirations into inspiration and dreams into businesses was never a matter of luck.
Dr. Hoffpauir earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. He owns two dental practices in Texas and is part owner of several companies, including Straight Teeth Solutions, a clear aligner company; Dentalogic, a medical and dental information services company; 4G Dental Laboratory; Dream Makers Industries (DMI), a small business incubator; nfoldAI, Inc., an artificial intelligence company; Doc Hoff Investments, and Still Waters Brazilian JuiJitsu Academy.
Maintaining a strong online presence with his podcast, Dear Doc, Dr. Hoffpauir owns and moderates The Business of Dentistry, the largest social media page for dentists. His newest venture is a podcast called Riveted, The Extraordinary Lives of Ordinary Folks.
